Lane is the longest-standing member of the Titusville Summer Theater board, having served nearly 40 years, since 1984. His first involvement with TST was in 1972’s “Kiss Me Kate” as a member of the stage crew. Since then, Lane has been involved in 48 TST productions in multiple capacities including music director, set design, pit orchestra, programs, publicity, and as a cast member. His first show as Music Director was 1984’s “Wildcat”, followed by a long string of productions in that capacity. Most recently, he was music director for “Oklahoma!” in 2018. Lane also directed the music for numerous smaller shows and revues over the years.
In addition to his involvement with TST, Lane was music director for 29 Titusville High School productions. He has also played for, conducted, or directed music for numerous shows in the surrounding area. A native of Titusville, Lane earned his B.A. in Music Education from Clarion University and an M.A. in Music from Eastern New Mexico University. He retired as a music teacher in the Titusville Area School District in 2015. In his retirement, Lane and his wife, Jamie, enjoy traveling, wintering in Florida, kayaking, playing pickleball and spending time with family and friends. Titusville Summer Theater has been an important and rewarding part of Lane’s life, and he eagerly looks forward to Titusville Summer Theater's yearly return. |
